In 2022, Michelle faced a medical journey that put her physical body and mind to the test. Her family witnessed someone who was capable of juggling everything, suddenly struggle to face the world.
As a Graphic Designer, designing has always been a form of therapy. When she was at her most vulnerable she created two designs based on two sayings that she held onto for positivity, Faith over Fear and Grow Through What you Go Through. Michelle placed the designs on mugs to help reframe her mindset while she enjoyed her morning cup of coffee. This is what sparked the start of Mahal Ohana.
Our goal with Mahal Ohana is to create products that will encourage, uplift and bring joy to those facing difficult seasons in their life.

Inspired by my husband’s quiet strength during one of the hardest seasons of our lives, this shirt carries more than a message—it carries the weight of perseverance, love, and the belief that even when it feels like you can’t… you still can.
